A shoe you can keep is a quieter kind of luxury.
Most everyday shoes are built as a single object. When the sole wears through, the shoe is finished. We wanted the opposite: an upper worth keeping, and a sole you can replace.
The Mule 01 is stitchdown, not cemented into a sealed unit. The rubber outsole sits beneath a leather midsole and welt, so it can be removed and renewed. The footbed lifts out. The leather is full-grain, thick enough to take a patina instead of a coating.
Repair is not a slogan on a hangtag. It is a construction decision, made before the first pair is cut.
